* To associate the second language with experience of feelings .
* To transform foreign language to second language by using it for real situation .
* One of the best way to develop fluency skills .
* Offer an effective way of introducing new language, making it meaningful and memorable
* Stories have a natural role to play in cross curriculum work . ( arising out of stories might range from a study of food in the Hungry Caterpillar story by Eric Carle for Young Learners .)

The Learning activities
The colour wheel . Suitable for remedial students . Students are asked to match the phrases ( the cloth pegs ) to the pictures on the wheel after listening to the story of BROWN BEAR, BROWN BEAR , WHAT DO YOU SEE ?
Making 'Picture Story' by emphazing the Days of the Week and Food after listening to the story of THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR .
Group activity where the students are asked to sequence the story line by matching it to the pictures . The story is about GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE BEARS .
I love this activity . I'm using TPR ( Total Physical Approach ) in this story . Students are guided to make some physical actions to describe every scene that they come across in the story . They will tell the story aloud in the group with action . I'm using the story of WE'RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT by Michael Rosen . This activity is best for practicing their pronunciation, enunciation and to build their self confidence in using the target language .
